The Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church located at 404 N Green St. began building in 1964 and the first worship service was held on June 13, 1965 by Pastor Donald Johnson. The original building (above) was a church edifice and fellowship room. In 1969, Pastor Roger Schneider became the leader of the church and a second building program was completed. In 1981, a new sanctuary of the church was dedicated and in 1987 a fourth building program added an education unit as it stands today.
