Photo 10-OUN-31 from 1972

This may be the Hube and Martha Jobe farm on North Jobe road.

Confirm that. Jobe Farm. New house behind original which is stilm there. Also couple trailers around pond. Road is asphalt now.

This is my Grandparents home I grew up a mile down the road. My two daughters live on this property now. And I am within a mile from my grandbabies.

I grew up here! Looking at the picture from 1972 when I was 13 takes me back. It's like dropping in on the past. Pretty cool.

This was my world.
I grew up on this east-central Indiana farm from the late 1959s through the 1970s before I got married and moved out. I was in seventh grade when this photo was taken and I cannot describe to you the emotional reaction I felt to it when my niece found it on your website and I looked it up.
The school bus my farmer dad drove in the driveway. The home where my mother was the heart and soul. The barn where my father was the heart and soul of our farm. The pond where I fished and learned to swim. The gravel road; the small field behind the homeplace.
Home. My heart.
Oh but listen to this! I want to tell you about the surprise I got when the enlargement arrived: My dad is in the photo! I could not believe it! He is standing next to the old Ford tractor looking up at the plane!
I am a writer by trade, and I also write blogs. I wrote a blog about this photo at donnacronk.com. Please have a look. It was written about a week ago so it's only one down from the one that pops up. You are welcome to reprint it if you want, no strings attached.
I am delighted with my canvas wrap and it hangs on our dining room wall. Now I ask those who come visit to see if they can find the man in the middle: my father.
Thank you!

My precious original homeplace for 20 years.

Hello Donna,
It appears this property has been meaningful to many people over the years. We are pleased to have preserved it.
