I believe this is the Calvin Crandall homestead in Oakfield. It is no longer standing. If I am right this was my grandfathers farm, with milking cows and horses. Spent a lot of time here growing up, haying and helping with the cows and horses.

Have a million happy memories of life on this Farm!! My folks & I had a Camp on Spaulding Lake, which was just across the pasture from Calvin's Farm. We moved to Camp the day School got out for Summer Vacation, & stayed until Potato Harvest in September. I always had Horses growing up, & Calvin let me keep them in his Pasture during the Summer months. Calvin's Grandaughter, Anita Crandall, was in my Class in School, & had horses too, and we lived on our Horses...rode them EVERYWHERE!! A lot of kids had Horses back then, & the neighborhood was full of them. Haying Season was hard work, but a lot of fun! Sadly, those were the last of the "good old days".

Ridge Road in Oakfield. Calvin and my Dad, Colby were brothers. Lots of memories there.

My husband grew up on this farm. Milked cows, hayed, raised potatoes, even grew beans for a few years. Still lives across the road from the house lot. Been here 62 years No place like home.
