Yay! I found my home. Wayne and Maureen Kierstead, Mapleton, ME.

This is the Chapman Rd in Mapleton, right off Main St.

The home in the center of the picture was owned by Ralph and Betty Dow I believe. The white building with two doors was an old school house turned into a garage. The house with the gas tank belonged to Charles Hill and the house in the lower right was owned By Earnest "Juddy" Judkins who drove for Nissen.

The two homes in the back on the right are my uncle Maxwell "Mack" MacDonald's trailer and the house surrounded by the trees was my grandparents, Bernard and Hilma Boyles. Our house was to the right of this house.

Any further pictures on the West Chapman Road? Coolacre Farms was our family farm (McLellan) with Chandler Mountain to the east and Squapan Range to the west.

In the above photo: A classmate, Marjorie Dow, lived in the white house to the left of the little side street and another classmate, Linda Turner, lived across the street on the west side of West Chapman Road. Brings back a lot of great memories.

How are you and your family, Tamra. It's been a long time since the 4-H Riding Club!

"The white building with two doors was an old school house turned into a garage" My mom, Frances Foss Larsson, had her first teaching job in that building, sometime in the late 1930s. She and her twin sister Freda Foss Kilcollins (who had an early teaching job in the building that's now the Haystack Historical Society up the hill in Mapleton) skipped some grades and went through UMPI (then Aroostook State Normal School) in 2 years, so they were still in their teens when they started teaching.
