Another view of the buildings pictured in photo #4.
This is the former Ford Village Factory/Village Industries (the last one he ever built) on the southwest corner of Ridge and Cherry Hill Roads. Starting in 1940, this plant employed local disabled veterans returning from World War II. Just to the south of the factory on Ridge Road stands an old creamery that Ford moved and renovated into a dormitory for the workers in 1943. At the time, Henry Ford was known for regularly visiting the factory and sharing breakfast with the workers. All buildings are a part of the National Register of Historic Places.
Today the buildings house the Village Arts Factory, a multi-vendor creative space with studios, boutiques, eateries and galleries. They also still retain the Veterans Dormitory and related programming for veteran support.
The open field to the south and west of the factory is now completely developed and is the River's Edge neighborhood.
Of note: at top left of this photo the Cherry Hill United Methodist Church and cemetery can be seen, it was built in 1835 and is one of the oldest remaining buildings in Wayne County.
