Shopping mall built on site of old Raleigh Municipal Airport, first location for scheduled flights into Raleigh. Runways are visible behind shops
South Wilmington St Near the intersect of Tryon Rd. Raleigh N.C.
This was built in 1964. I remember it as the King's Store and it has been several things since. It is now known as Chapanoke Square. The address is 3210 S. Wilmington St.
In the front is the Watchovia Bank and Trust.
Winn Dixie
Auto Center on the right end

Clay Casey was the branch manager of the Wachovia bank there. I was in line for the Grand Opening of the King's Store.I wanted the 10 speed bike and was there at the door all night. But the sunbeam bread man supplying the snack bar got the hook-up and the bike. Even talked to the N and O but to no avail!!!!!
