This used to Rader,s. They used to store apples here and make Cider, both kind. (Hard) Mr Rader had the store, sold gas, groceries and beer. When it would rain all of the neighboring farmers would come in from the fields and drink beer, whiskey, smoke cigars and play poker, I would ride with MY Grandfather and tag along. I was limited, as well as the other kids, to Root Beer. This is where I learned to play Poker as My Grandfather seemed to win more than He would lose. When the rain stopped, so did the Poker game and the Farmers would head back to the fields. My Grandfather also sold His eggs and some milk at this store. The neighbored kids had great fun playing around Mr. Rader's building till We would get caught and sent home, which was often and continuous. Guess Our Parents felt the Rader,s made great baby sitters. Mom could tell when We were there because of the "Belly Ache" from eating too many apples.
In this photo it is Gerry's bar.
