The E. Biglow Tile Works, at the north end of Ledgett St, New London. This was a major manufacturer of clay tile pipes, and went out of business due to the popularity of plastic pipes in 1981. New London Tile kept a smaller business there for awhile. The larger buildings were still there in 2006 but I think it was closed by then. A year later, everything you see in this photo was gone. At the same time, a bypass around New London called Biglow Parkway was built, it would run across this photo in the area behind the white house. If you look past the north end of Ledgett St on Google maps you can see a few traces remaining that are all that is left of this large company.
