From the right: the Hi Ho Drive In, Merkle Ford Sales and Mastron Pontiac-Buick. South side of Rt 224 east of Myrtle Ave, Willard. The tornado struck right here in 1973 after traveling east along Rt 224. The Hi Ho lost everything except the block walls, photos show cars stacked up on the front wall. The two dealerships were heavily damaged as well. Mastron had a wide front addition for the showroom by then. Part of the roof remained, but all windows and doors were gone. A period photo shows a steering wheel ripped right out of a Buick laying there. Merkle was more heavily damaged.

The dealerships were rebuilt. Merkle became Sharpnack Ford. Mastron is now Schaeffer Danhoff Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep. The cute little Hi Ho was torn down, today the Moose lodge is there.
