West side of Baird Rd just north of Betts Rd (in upper left corner), Camden. The house still stands and a new barn is down the drive, the old barns are gone.
The Ray Green farm was purchased in 1919 from William Betts, who had acquired the farm from Gideon Lattisman. 98 of the 114 acres were planted in corn, wheat and soy beans. Green raised White Rock broilers. He took delivery of 1500 chicks at a time and marketed them at 12 weeks of age when they were 3 1/2 to 4 pounds in weight.
Featured as Mystery Farm number 18 by the Wellington Enterprise on April 5, 1956. Search the Lorain County home page for "mystery" to see other farms.
