Rachel & Phil's 20 Mile Restaurant & Bar.
This was the 20 Mile House which at the time shown was owned by a couple, Rachel & Phil. The landmark that stood at the intersection of Montgomery Road (US 22/3) and Columbia Road. This area was known as 20 Mile Stand as it was 20 miles north of the Ohio River on US 22/3. 20 Mile Stand received its first post office in 1824 and its first postmaster was named Samuel Clendenin who is now buried in Union Cemetery at the corner of Union Cemetery and US 22/3. The 20 Mile House was a famous landmark that sadly was razed just a few years ago. US 22/3 was originally a toll road built in 4 mile increments and there was a 16 mile stand (approximately kemper road and 22/3) and 4 miles north of 20 Mile Stand became known locally as Hopkinsville (at the intersection of 22/3 and Ohio 48).
