The Old Rossville Store, 856 Volney Road, Rossville, Allamakee County, Iowa.
Originally was Beisker General Merchandise and then a supper club for a number of years.

So today you decided to give us an easy one? LOL Hooray, I was actually able to find it myself! This is Rossville, Iowa, the intersection of Volney Rd and Old Rossville Dr. The store is still there and looks much the same. It is "approximately" 856 Volney Rd (according to Google street maps). I'm not clear on if that is the store or the house across the street. Both houses are still there and also look the same.

Great job Gretchen!
"Rossville" painted on the roof was probably a big help. There are several Rossvilles in the country though, so I thought someone might get stumped in the wrong town.
Apparently the store is now called the "Old Rossville Store" and I have no idea what they sell.
Actually, I think its a restaurant. They apparently have a Facebook group! http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid...
Akk Lance, I think I got stuck in the spam filter again :)
The clue that helped me isolate which Rossville was the sign on the store: Beisker General merchandise.
Randy, you absolutely did! I apologize for that.
Our spam filter is supposed to learn what gets marked as "spam" and what gets marked as "ham," so hopefully we're getting that taken care of. I've already started checking the "spam" folder for real comments.
Yes, there is a Rossville PA near me :-) but the name Beisker helped me too. When I googled that name, I got a bunch of Iowa links, so I searched for Rossville, IA first. Since the sign on the roof looked like directions for an airport, I also watched out for a small airport or landing strip nearby.
Congrats to Randy, but I'm still excited that I got it without any help! :-)
This is the first time I ever looked at your web site and honest to god, I grew up only a 1/2 mile from this Rossville General store. My Uncles brother,Jack Biesker was the owner and operater and sold general groceries, Gooches Best livestock feeds, of which our family were regular customers. There was also a tavern and pool tables in the back room of the grocery store where my brother and I sometimes had a chance to play pool with our uncle Marvin Biesker, we thought were big boys, even though we were only about 10 years old. I will get in touch with my cousins and also the wife of the now deceased Proprieter and see if they have a copy of this picture. And yes the Original Building is still in use as a very active resturant and rececption center and Serves Awesume Meals 6 days a week. Fact Is My wife and I Enjoyed supper there just a week ago tonight even though we now live in Decorah, Iowa about 30 mils away. Any one interested in visiting about Rossville 50 years ago,Apporimately when this picture was give me a call 563-380-0136 Glad I found your site,LeRoy McClintock
