Main Street, Frenchville, ME. Building with flagpole and large driveway on left of photo is the American Legion.

The building in the center was owned by Bertrand Dumais which housed a store (local coffee hang-out) and barber shop at one time

The street in the back is Felix Ave. The house on the far right is no longer there. The house to the left of it was Raoul & Lucille Paradis' homestead where they raised 14 children. The house is now owned by their son Daniel. The house to the left of that was Valere & Priscille Paradis which is now owned by their son. The garage in the middle of the two still stands.

I remember riding over on bike as a kid in the early 90s to watch the demolition of that central building which housed the general store, coffee shop, restaurant, and apartments. It was exciting as hell at the time...kind of sad now, seeing this picture. I have no recollection of the warehouses/mills/potato houses being across the street, it's just a long, empty lot along the tracks today.

ohmygosh so many memories and I do miss that little town <3 <3 <3

The left building used to be occupied by Lawrence Ayotte and family, then became the American Legion, next building was our home, Bertrand & Irma Dumais, parents; next to the store was a warehouse for spray materials, shipping bags for farmers, workout place for kids. The middle building was a general store, a barber shop and a pool hall. Store had groceries work clothing, fishing and hunting supplies, hardware. The the pool hall became an apt, the the middle was a coffee shop, then final the store was turned into an apt which is where I lived a few few years.
Dad transitioned into the building industry as he downsized the store.

Leo Dubois lived in the small house in upper left of the picture which I think was owned by Valere Paradis.
